Let's talk about life

LABELS

Rudy Trussler • General
I struggle with labels especially when it comes to how to identify myself on a spiritual level. I could go with the Christian label, but I fear that that could lock me into a people group that does not really represent what I believe spiritually.
Maybe I will just create my own label.

I struggle with labels especially when it comes to how to identify myself on a spiritual level. I could go with the Christian label, but I fear that that could lock me into a people group that does not really represent what I believe spiritually.

Maybe I will just create my own label. How about this:

I am spiritually connected to the Paternal/Maternal energy that makes up the Universe surrounded by Christocentric illumination. (Pastor-Yogi-Swami Rudy has spoken!)

In all actuality, I cannot really, completely depart from the Christian label because it has been such a big part of my life. I am a follower of Jesus Christ. But what does that mean? I think that if someone claims to follow Jesus then their life will reflect the actions and teaching of Jesus. If we placed a label Jesus, like the ingrediency on a can of soup it would really, only have one ingredient – Love.

In the Judeo-Christian world, God is Love. So, if God is love and Jesus is the embodiment of love shouldn't those of us who follow Jesus Christ wear the same label and look, feel and taste like the love ingredient of God?

In a lot of Christian circles, it's like they are removing part of the main ingredient and replacing it with "artificial sweeteners." Try new Jesus-lite. Half the love but with twice the dogma!

We can't remove the love message of Jesus and replace it with political or religious agendas. The only identifier for a person that is a follower of Jesus is how well they love.

"My loved ones, let us devote ourselves to loving one another. Love comes straight from God, and everyone who loves is born of God and truly knows God. 8 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love." - 1 John 4:7-8 (The Voice)

We who follow Jesus should take inventory of ourselves and see if we have the same kind of love Jesus showed us for others. It is our love for this world that is the missing ingredient for the change that the world is so desperately longing for.

So, in the spirit of Love Month, I challenge you to make the human race your Valentine and go out and show them something as scandalous as… Love.

With love,

Rudy Trussler

Easy to love, hard to hate, impossible to ignore.
